Stymphalian Birds The Greeks had many legendary beasts. The Stymphalian Birds were one of them. The legend tells of these massive birds that nest near Lake Stymphalus, in Arcadia. With each nest holding two birds and numerous eggs, the large nests are made of scrap metal, whole trees and sometimes animal or mammal bones. With a wingspan of thirty feet they are roughly the size of a small plane. And built like one too. Solid iron feathers, as long as a human arm, cover it's entire body; blades as sharp as a saw line each feather like razors. Massive iron talons, cut into the ground as they waddle about. A bronze beak, that loves to tear the meat off of bones, clicks every time it opens it's mouth to screech a screech so loud your ear drums burst. If it's sonic burst doesn't make your brain implode, its droppings of acid renders the saying 'watch where you step' literal. Their flexible wings allow them to fling their iron feathers towards an enemy. Like the dragons of legend, a single soft spot, a kink in their armor, just over their heart can bring them to their death. Killing the Stymphalian Bird To kill the Stymphalian Bird, a party of no more than 5 and no less than 3 must be used. These adventurers must be active throughout the thread. The quest thread should be titled "Hunting the Stymphalian Bird", be made in Europe, and be at least 50 posts long.Reward If the requirements for killing the Stymphalian Bird are met, a reward will be distributed to the participants. The otherwise unattainable "Feather of the Stymphalian Bird" will be added to the inventory of the participants, which depending on the size can be used from a weapon to a shield of high cutting potential at the edges. One party member (whichever proved most valuable) will be granted the "Heart of Gears", the central gear that works each Stymphalian Birds heart. The gear can start any machine by a single touch.
